Real-time Search Galore
Google has finally rolled out real-time search in their results pages yesterday. With real-time search, users can get dynamic, ever-updating results, feeding them the latest articles, tweets and all sorts of content related to the search keyword.
Google, for once, has some serious catching up to do in real-time search, as both Bing and Twitter had been using the technology for quite some time now. The search engine juggernaut will be making deals with both Facebook and Myspace to get their content in the real-time wheel as well. Real-time search might take several days before you can try it, but you can get a preview here.
Personally, I think real-time search is not to be taken lightly. While the benefit for the user is obvious, the real power of this technology lies within the new possibilities it offers to businesses, namely associating two of the most notable e-marketing tools today: Social media, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I’ll let you imagine the rest of the story. Also, beware, your tweets and Facebook comments could show up anytime in my search results page!
